Megan Fizell
Megan R. Fizell a Sydney-based art historian, curator, and writer. In 2021, she was awarded a PhD (Art Theory) by UNSW for her thesis examining modern and contemporary art employing edible materials. Her research focuses on the sensory and affective experiences of food art within broader sociocultural frameworks. Employing an interdisciplinary approach, she considers the role of physiological and cultural forms in reactivating embedded behaviours and responses during gustatory art encounters.
Fizell also holds a Master of Arts (Art Business) from Sotheby’s Institute of Art – London and a Bachelor of Arts (History of Art & English Literature) from the University of Michigan. She has over a decade of experience working in contemporary art galleries in London and Sydney in administrative and managerial roles.
